The Arts Council of Central Louisiana Presents Aquila Theatre: The Great Gatsby

The Arts Council of Central Louisiana Presents Aquila Theatre: The Great Gatsby

Friday, February 18th at 7:30 PM

Beneath all the glitter, glamour and glitz of the Roaring Twenties was a culture of success defined by extravagance — of classism and prejudice, of wealth, material possessions, and obsession masquerading as love. Written in 1924, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald paints an honest and moving portrayal of American society that still resonates today, an exploration of the quest for the American dream in the absence of true equality. Aquila Theatre, one of the foremost producers of classical theater in the nation has created a new theatrical adaptation of this famous novel by using a clever and impactful design, world-class actors, and insightful direction to emphasize the connections between our current culture and that of a century past. The Arts Council of Central Louisiana is excited to welcome back Aquila Theatre to the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center Stage!
