Join the Rapides Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, March 12 for Variations on a Theme, a concert featuring music by Edward Elgar and Alberto Ginastera. The highlight of the evening, Elgar’s Enigma Variations is another major work by this British composer best-known for his Pomp and Circumstance Marches. In his Enigma Variations, Elgar depicts friends and colleagues through a series of variations on an elusive theme. Also on the program is Argentine composer Ginastera’s Variaciones concertantes which highlights a different instrument or instruments in each of its subsequent variations.
Featuring our local orchestra led by Maestro Joshua Zona, the concert begins at 7:30 PM on Saturday, March 12 at the beautiful Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center.
