Holy Savior Menard Theatre Arts presents Guys and Dolls! Join the talented students of Menard’s theatre department and director Cherise Rino for their production of this classic Broadway musical April 15-19 at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center. There will be five performances, including showings Wednesday through Saturday at 7 PM and a Sunday matinee at 2 PM.
Featuring the music and lyrics of Frank Loesser, Guys and Dolls had an initial run of 1200 performances and has inspired numerous revivals. Along the way, Guys and Dolls has won three Tony Awards and was selected for the 1951 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The show also inspired a 1955 film adaptation starring Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, and Vivian Blaine. And later, one of its songs “Luck Be a Lady” became a popular favorite in the hands of Frank Sinatra.
